Do the scholars in this school do course correction of the school when it deviates from its principles or is it just that each student want to be unique in his/her thought and unintentionally do course deviation thinking that they are correcting the school direction.

Ghamidi sb has changed his views with time. Similat for others too eg dr shehzad wrote a book about economy in islam. Now he donot adhere to his beliefs. Few scholars disagree with Ghamidi sb on evolution.

However, onething is common from outside perspective, they claim to following same principle laid in farahi school.

I only know farhad shafti who has split his thought from farahi school and has his own paradigm of understanding now.

Can you give me an example for better understanding: How does same principle leads to different outcomes.

Another point that I would like to know – why are these differences not documented within the farahi school ?

In the applications of the principles, people differ. Ghamidi saheb differed with his Ustaad Mawlana Amin Ahsan Islahi on the problem of Hijab, the generalization of the commands of the wives of the Prophet.

Sajid Hameed saheb differes with Ghamidi saheb in the understanding of the distribution of inheritance in the Quran and evolution.

If you are interested, read their work to learn how and why they differ by applying the same principles. All their works are published.

It was Dr. Amir Gazdar’s research which made Ghamidi Sahab review and revise his understanding of Adhan & Iqamah in new born ear which he initially considered as perpetual Sunnah.

Similarly, Dr. Amir Gazdar has written against Ghamidi Sahab’s view point regarding trimming nails and hair during first 10 days of Dhulhajja. Ghamidi Sahab is still not convinced and they both hold a different view. You can download his book in the link below:

Are these the only differences between these scholars or only differences within the farahi school? I was asking concise details of the differences between these scholars.

No work is done on this topic as of yet because such application differences could be numerous and not easy to document in a separate place. For academics or people interested in such discussions, they can follow publications/books/videos in this regard where such differences are expressed by scholars from time to time.

May I respectfully ask, how should a lay man looks at differences in scholars. It is no problem when it is an ideological problem such as evolution but in case of a matter of application ( such as in inheritance). There 3 ways I am often faced with:

    – choosing an opinion for yourself based on what intellectually is most appealing ( however this requires a great deal of research and reading sometimes and you might still find yourself misled owing to your inherent deficiencies in the religious sciences)

    – choosing according to ease ( appealing when the opinions do not seem any more or less hard than each other generally but might be easier for u individually- like me choosing to pray asr at the earlier prescribed time, however, this opens the question of bias that comes what u want to be right)

    – choosing according to hardship/ the most work ( I guess, if u do the most possible, u feel secure that doing less might be sinful but more is atleast acceptable if not better, ex- a woman observing strict parda to feel completely free from being sinful. However in my personal experience, it has a tendency to make religion really difficult and I’m not sure self inflicted hardship is wise to a productive life)

Let me know if this deviated from the topic at hand and if I should post it seperately.

This is not related to the question. Please post it as a separate question.
