Ghamidi Sahab has made it clear that music isn’t particularly Haram. But what about women singing in public?

I understand that the decency of the lyrics matter most while singing anything, but what if a woman sings, let’s say, a good poem by Faiz or Iqbal, will that be acceptable, given that some Hadith mention that while talking to non mehram the tone of the voice and the style of speech should not be something that can cause Fitnah?

A singing woman to listen to is not different from a woman in makeup to look at. This is the show of aesthetics. If aesthetics can cause fitna for someone, the man needs to be corrected through moral training or through the power of law.

    Sir,

I was confused about whether or not it is a sin for the woman?

To sing good songs without any bad lyrics!!

There is no extra sin for women. If a man can sing in public, so can a woman. Both need to be decently covered.

Good and bad lyrics are another matter. No one should sing something immoral.
