There is a hadith in bhukhari [ I don’t know the reference ] it says killing lizards is rewarded and it explains that when Ibrahim alaysalaam was put in the fire a lizard was trying to make it even more by blowing. My q is ; why would the descendants of a lizards or other lizards let’s say be punished for the deed of that specific lizard and how is this acceptable that our beloved prophet advises us to kill lizards to get reward while he was known to be kind and gentle to all creatures.

Surely I think the prophet meant when a lizard is maybe in home or causing harm then in that case one can kill it to protect humans perhaps. But most of the scolars do not explain like this; they say one gets rewarded so one should kill it. And people then go out and see lizards they start killing them for reward while the lizards are just minding their own buisness.

So can you explain to me what this hadith is actually saying? I’m a bit confused.

    JazakAllah khair
