So i wanted to talk to some member of al mawrid in detail on this issue. Untill then i will continue responding on this discussion here.

So to your argument: that people gives authority to government to regarding something as money and not. Then it is wrong assumption. Here’s why. Any action of democratically elected government is not the descision of public itself. That action is still of government. Yes public gave authority. But that doesnt outlaw the action taken by government itself permissible or not. If democratically elected government impose veil as compulsory, or they permit alcohol shops, or impose tax on the public, that action doesnt permitted by public although government is elected democratically. So action by itself cannot be regarded as “permitted if govt does it because public allows it” ignoring inherent nature of action itself. So any imposed money cannot be regarded as allowance by public. Ghamidi sb has clear cut opinion that taxation imposed by govt is forbidden. Taxation cannot be deemed permissible just because democratic government imposed it.

By default forbidding something is haram. Taking freedom away from public and imposing standard requires proof from sunnah and quran. Not the other way around. We find no such proof. We find otherwise.

I will present you hadith and some historical records if you want, which is against government dictating the markets. Historically entire tradition of muslim nations all around the world and time, never imposed something as standard and only minted the coins.

I dont want to bost myself here, but this topic is barely being discussed by ghamidi sb or any scholar of al mawrid. This is the base to understand any maslah of banking. Mortgage according to ghamidi sb is halal both ways: from receiver and mortgage issuer both.

But I conclude that its only from receiver perspective as he is the one who is on receiver side of injustice. The mortgage issuing is completely injust Practice and should be forbidden.

Again asking if I could talk to some scholar on this. Thank you.

If the government does not reflect the will of the pepole, the people are there to object to it, and they can demand that the government act as they will. God has told us to obey the rulers. Formation of the government inherently entails the rule that we are ready to restrict our freedom for the common good. Otherwise, there is no need for government.

Human beings decide how to run their affairs. Deen does not dictate them. Its concern is their morals. And that is why some rules are introduced.

As far as money or currency is concerned, it is entirely their discretion to decide and agree that silver, gold, dollar, or crypto is their currency.
