We chat and talk frequently to other Muslims friends, cousins and friends on social media or via chat. I often use Asa or Asalam o alaykum wrb or Asa wrb frequently but someone shared that I should not use these abbreviation preferably use full sentence or don’t write it at all as it is not possible to write full sentence every time at all. Our intentions remains to get the blessings we do understand it is better to use full sentence but with at times with time constraints it is difficult. It’s very similar such as asking friends hru or brb or etc.
Please advise what we should do?
Do we don’t use Asa at all if we can’t write full sentence every time and start with Hi like non Muslims?

Please enlighten us with detailed answer as it is causing some uproar in our community here in NY

    Jazak Allah Khair

You can use an abbreviation for Islamic greetings or prayer, like PBUH. It is not objectionable. If someone prefers to write in full, it is their choice. It is not a matter of dispute.
