This verse affirms God’s absolute sovereignty and contrasts it with human accountability; it does not mean God is afraid of questioning.
Surah al‑Anbiya is addressing people who associate partners with God and who imagine the divine could be judged by human standards. The literal wording, “He is not questioned about what He does, but they will be questioned,” places God beyond judicial scrutiny while affirming that every created being will be held accountable for its actions.
The phrase does not imply fear or weakness. It is a rhetorical contrast used to correct a theological error: if created beings (idols, angels, prophets, or humans) themselves will be questioned, they cannot be divine or co‑equal with God. The point is to refute polytheism and to underline divine authority, not to suggest any deficiency in God.
