    Salam,

I have a question regarding crypto futures trading and its permissibility in Islam.

Crypto futures trading operates in a manner similar to a zero-sum game: the total value does not increase but is essentially transferred from one trader to another. In practice, it is closer to a negative-sum game, as total trader funds often decrease due to exchange fees and funding costs.

While interest is not involved, and assuming proper analysis and risk management are applied, there is no actual ownership of the underlying asset, and gains or losses result purely from the price movements between opposing positions. The total net value among all traders does not increase; it only shifts from one account to another.

Given this structure, is such trading considered permissible in Islam?
