Parents Issue Regarding Marriage
I was working as a junior doctor and I was attracted to my female colleague because of her good character , within two months I told my parents about her they said to wait for a year. I told her already I will marry her and I have met her mother and assured her that I will marry her after a year however 7 months have already pass. But because their family need assurance from my parents,( at least a phone call) my parents arent even taking a step ahead towards her and now they changed statement and said to wait 2 years more when you will get settle and earn 4 lakh plus salary. I agreed with them but i told them to at least assure her family which they deserve. All I m stuck with my family not taking a step which is normal process in desi families until after 2 years we can marry and on other hand her family need assurance as it seems like if one more month will pass they can have thoughts to change their mind. What is command according to Islam in this situation
