“Reciting Salah Words During Menstruation: Permissible Or Not?”
Assalamu Alaikum,My question is that prayer (Salah) is a pillar of religion. Hazrat Umar (RA) said, “Whoever abandons prayer has destroyed his entire religion.” The reason why women do not pray during menstruation is understood.Since reciting the Quran is permissible during menstruation, the question arises: if a woman, without the intention of performing Salah, simply recites the same words that are normally recited in Salah — from Allahu Akbar to the end — just to engage her heart, and neither considers it as prayer nor performs it physically, is this act permissible? In my view, this is not correct, because in the case of illness, one can perform Salah with the same phrases, whereas during menstruation, Salah is entirely exempted. So, is performing it in this way permissible according to Shariah?
