Doing Household Chores Is Prophet’s Sunnah?
Hi, my wife’s keeps on demanding me to help her in household chores, she’s housewife but I remain busy throughout my entire and usually get tired off. I accept she too get tired through doing household chores throughout day, but can she demand me helping her and she justifies with Prophet SAWW famous incident that he used to do cleaning in house and other stuff as well. My question is that since as Husband, a male is set to do outdoor work, earn money, for me it’s like impossible that I could help her during weekdays as my worklife’s too busy. Is it so that hadith which reported that Prophet SAWW used to help in house chores could be of specific occasion when her wife wasn’t healthy or he was free at that time, not busy in outdoor work. My wife keeps on demanding this because of Prophet’s teachings, please clarify me whether first of all what was the exact context of prophet SAWW household chores, in what condition he did. Secondly, am I bound to help her even when I’m busy in my workday?

Rather, it depends on mutual understanding, personal circumstances, and available time. The Prophet’s (sws) participation in housework was voluntary and rooted in love, cooperation, and harmony within the household. He helped whenever he had spare time, but as soon as the prayer was called, he would leave everything and proceed for the prayer.
In your situation, if you have the time and capacity, you may certainly choose to help. If you do not, then instead of relying on religious arguments to avoid chores, it is far better to communicate openly and kindly with your spouse. You might be able to justify your stance through strict religious reasoning, but the tension that could arise from such an approach may negatively affect your marriage in the long run.
A healthier approach is to handle the matter with maturity, empathy, and mutual understanding rather than emotional or rigid religious framing.
