Why is pork prohibited in almost all Abrahamic religions like Judaism, Christianity, and Islam? Why is this particular animal treated as if it is an outcast? Why is there so much strong avoidance around pigs specifically?I don’t generally see anything about pigs that seems morally corrupt or inherently harmful. Most prohibitions in religion make moral or logical sense — like avoiding injustice, harm, zina or immorality — but this one feels different. It feels unusual. Why would Allah specifically prohibit this animal? Is there a deeper wisdom behind it, i genuinely don’t see any logical reasoning behind this prohibition. Sometimes I even feel bad for pigs, as if they are unfairly singled out.
