  • Ruling On Having A Carrier As A Blockchain Developer

    Salam everyone,

I’m learning Solidity/smart contract development from scratch and aiming to freelance as a blockchain developer.

But I’m stuck on one big concern: most real DeFi projects and freelance jobs seem to involve interest-based features (lending, borrowing, yield farming, staking rewards, etc.), which looks like riba.

So, is it halal to work as a blockchain/Solidity developer at all if the majority of paying work touches interest mechanisms? Or can I keep it halal by avoiding DeFi/lending entirely and sticking to things like NFTs, tokens, DAOs, payments, or non-financial dApps?

What do scholars say? Any practical advice from devs who kept it halal?

    JazakAllah khair for honest answers.
