Leave him. Domestic violence is wide spread, and a husband who beats or tortures his wife is not worth living with. Also it has a very bad effect on the children seeing their mother tortured and they can’t stop him. The unfortunate situation arises when a woman is not financially strong ( that is why it is essential for our girls to get educated and stand on their feet) and their parents have died and they have no support system. Then they have no choice but to bear everything which is very un-fortunate but a sad reality.

Even a disobedient wife does not have to be beaten because the permission is there! This is one option available.Women need a good education, have a profession so that in case of a cruel husband she can take a stand and not tolerate this despicable behaviour A wife needs to be respected.
Yes, a father can in his lifetime write a will giving equal share to his son and daughter and this will has to be honored after his death.
