Like other jinns he should have died after some years ordained for him. If not how prophets sent to jinns work under his presence.

Iblees was a mortal being.

Wasn’t he given respite until qiyamah?

It is in a figurative sense. His followers amongst men and jinns are fulfilling his mission and shall continue to do so until the day of judgement.
