Al-Mujadila – 58:11
Arabic
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓاْ إِذَا قِيلَ لَكُمۡ تَفَسَّحُواْ فِى ٱلۡمَجَٰلِسِ فَٱفۡسَحُواْ يَفۡسَحِ ٱللَّهُ لَكُمْۖ وَإِذَا قِيلَ ٱنشُزُواْ فَٱنشُزُواْ يَرۡفَعِ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ مِنكُمۡ وَٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُواْ ٱلۡعِلۡمَ دَرَجَٰتٍۚ وَٱللَّهُ بِمَا تَعۡمَلُونَ خَبِيرٌ
English – Sahih International
O you who have believed, when you are told, “Space yourselves” in assemblies, then make space; Allah will make space for you. And when you are told, “Arise,” then arise; Allah will raise those who have believed among you and those who were given knowledge, by degrees. And Allah is Acquainted with what you do.
JAG:
Believers! [To indulge in whispering they sit together in groups; so] make room in the gatherings [of the Prophet] when you are bidden do so;64 God will make room for you.65 And when it is said: “Get up,” then get up.66 God will elevate to high ranks those who have faith and knowledge among you.67 And [rest assured] God is fully aware of all that you do.68 (11)
The implication from the sahih international translation is that the people of belief ‘and’ knowledge will have higher ranks.

So it’s just talking about the sahabah who have been given ilm of islam

The context is very clear, there were some special measures taken to counter the schemes of Hypocrites and this measure specifically in verse 11 had every potential to hurt someone’s ego, therefore, it was said that those Muslims who had belief and ilm of the situation and why these measures were taken, they would surely cooperate, and in return, God promised higher ranks for them in Jannah.
