    Al-An’am – 6:101

    Isn’t a simple answer- because you’re God?

It is to show contradiction in the belief of the addressees who believed that God had children like they have, but they did not believe that He did have a wife. God further told them (and us too) in the same verse that His relation to His creation is of Khaaliq, not of a parent, which nullifies any notion of parenthood of God.

They believe God had a child like them but they didn’t believe that he had a wife because they believed God could do something like this. It is still a lie against God but I am trying to understand the reasoning

If God does it without a wife the outcome will be His creation (Khalq) not son or daughter. This is the contradiction which God highlighted.

I know this seems like a stretch- but couldn’t they simply say that God can do anything, he can have a son without a wife- like he could create something and it wouldn’t be his creation, but would be his son, since he is God and can do anything

I guess the answer would simply be that ‘a son’ is a term used for something with a mother and a father, so the term wouldn’t be able to be used that way

It is Walad, which means biological child, who can be a son or daughter. The refutation is based on the perception of the people who assume that God fathered a child. so God refuted it that he did not have a wife, so how he can have a child
