In Pakistan copyright international books and video lectures are readily available in pirated form and it is a norm for the all the University students to use this material. This practice is so prevalent especially in medical colleges that I have never seen anyone who had not used such material as the original material ( books and video lectures) are fairly expensive.

My question is on the Islamic ruling on this issue.

Please bear in mind that using original material would be next to impossible for almost all the students.
