How can we say that in animals Allah has not blown a shakhsiyat like in humans. Ghamdi saab has in many occasions explained the difference in morals aqal and jamaliyat. But we see some level of aqal and emotions, feelings etc in animals as well. So where do we put these traits if they are only haiwans and dont possess a separate personality? Descartes philosophy saying i think therefore i am should be then projected to the animals as well and considered to be a separate identity other than tha body.

The level of intellect given to animals is at a level that they need to survive in this world. Human’s intellect and freewill, on the other hand, is such that they can aim to achieve big goals, plan them out, and act upon those plans. Not only that, but newer generations build upon the knowledge of previous generations, and that way human intellect keeps on expanding. On the basis of such intellect and freewill, humans have been able to achieve wonders such as landing on the moon, but animals have not evolved in that sense.

Right. Like even if some of them learn to utter some words like a parrot. They dont learn to organise and form a language for communication

What about the emotions n feelings side. Don’t these traits emerge from the nafs. Can we say that they have a nature but is different than ours.

Of course animals have nature/fitrah, and so do humans. Emotions like being happy, sad, angry, etc. is also part of the fitrah. Humans, however, have something additional that’s called nafs by the Quran. Ghamidi sahab explains nafs as personality/shakhsiyat. Some other scholars call it the soul/rooh.

The capability to distinguish between right and wrong has been instilled in our fitrah, but it is our nafs that either accepts or rejects the fitrah and compels us to carry out good and bad deeds. That’s what makes our nafs accountable for our deeds. It is the nafs that’s being tested in this world, and will be held accountable in the hereafter. Our bodies are nothing but the mediums that carry out the commands of our nafs. When we die, our worldly bodies shall cease to exist while our nafs shall continue it’s journey. In the next life our nafs will be given brand new bodies and we shall continue to live forever.

Since animals do not have the nafs, there’s no question of accountability. I hope that this helps.

Yes it does help. Even animals having a nature and a sarisht helps in clearing things out. Moreover the awareness of oneself is most prominent in the nafs of human i guess. Other things come with it.
