Is Prophet Muhammad (saw) Afzal Than All Other Messengers?
Do we have to believe that Prophet Muhammad (saw) Afzalul Anbiya, Imam ul Anbiya by Allah?? It says in Quran (2-253) that Messengers of Allah had different ranks. The ayat doesnt say who is Afzal or better among them. But I have heard several scholars say that we need to have this aqeedah that our prophet was the afzal one and he was the Imam ul Anbiya. Please explain Ghamidi Sahab’s perspective on it.

What’s stated in 2:253 is from the perspective of God Himself, and even that is only for certain attributes. From our perspective, we are not supposed to make any distinction amongst the apostles of God.
Quran 3:84
Translation by Asad
Say: “We believe in God, and in that which has been bestowed from on high upon us, and that which has been bestowed upon Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac and Jacob and their descendants, and that which has been vouchsafed by their Sustainer unto Moses and Jesus and all the [other] prophets: we make no distinction between any of them. And unto Him do we surrender ourselves.”

Agree we do not distinguish between any of the Prophets.
