When we imagine people getting whipped as a punishment we think of a dusty marketplace or area in the desert with people gathered around maybe cheering and shouting etc.

If we are to think about, for example, implementing eg whipping for zina in a society like Britain or the USA would it even be possible?

Where would it happen- there’s no main marketplace – would it be broadcasted?

The idea and imagery created just seems a bit tribal- maybe that’s just my social conditioning

There is no mention of giving every hudood punishment in public. The only directive is of lashing related to zina and that too in presence of few people/small group; there is no need to broadcast it or do it as an open show. Neither is there any bar nor is there any directive forcing us to do so.
