Nazm is very VERY important when interpreting Quran. But my question is, in the midst of interpretation based on coherence, where does Shan e Nuzul come in? Does it even hold any weight if we consider Nazm only?

I ask because I have realised that where Nazm is an essential component, Shan e Nuzul does not hold any less weight. Infact, Shan e Nuzul can help me as an individual to apply that scenario to my circumstances and find much more relevance in the Quran. Sometimes, to an extent that its like reading my own mind in it.

So how do we reconcile between the two?

You’re on-spot here and I agree with both your premise and its conclusion.

Shan-e-Nazul or the hijri when a particular verse/surah was revealed is of least importance. However, the stage of Sarguzisht-e-Inzaar at which that particular Surah has been revealed is of critical importance both for the coherence of Quran and in understanding the implication of the verses. And all of this can be extracted from the Quran itself, we do not have to refer to any external source to determine that.
