It is said that it’s Makruh to drink in broken or defected glass or pots. What’s the truth in it? Is it so?

Makrooh is a term that’s used for things that are disliked. In that regard it makes sense to not drink in broken utensils, should they cause any undue injury to the mouth or the hands.
However, this is about plain common sense – not a matter of religion. Other than dietary restrictions, religious permissibility of anything should be determined based on the broad categories mentioned in the Quran 7:33.
