Could it be possible that masjidul aqsa means the area of medinah snd that the journey mentioned was the Hijra?

There’s no chance of Aqsa referring to Medina in the verse 17:1. The following verses in the surah clearly convey that this surah was revealed in Makkah. Also there’s no such place known as Aqsa in Medina.
