Is It Riba?
Scenario 1:
A buys apples from B at $10 per kg on credit whereas the market price for cash is $9 only.
Scenario 2:
A buys apples from B at $10 per kg with home delivery whereas the market price at the store is $9 only.
Which one of the above is riba and if so why and if not why not?

Riba is only in loan transactions. With that understanding, there’s no question of riba in either one of your examples.

The first one is a loan transaction.
We learn from many ahadith that certain trading transactions that do not involve credit may also lead to riba. The narrative that implies “riba is only in loan” seems to have erroneously replaced the word “mostly” with “only” making this narrative in conflict with many others hadiths from authentic books.

“A buys apples from B at $10” is a trade, not a loan. A loan would be “A borrows apples from B“.
I can’t comment on the latter part of your follow-up. We’ll have to look at each hadith separately to figure out it’s credibility, context, as well as applicability to this discussion.

So borrowing apples is the same as taking a loan to buy apples, right? If this is riba, why isn’t the 2nd scenario also riba as in both the cases, the customer has some additional needs and there is a cost to fulfil those needs. Don’t see any “Zulm” here.
