  • How To Evaluate Quran's Challenge To Produce A Surah Like Those In It?

If someone takes the challenge and produces a surah consisting of three or more verses, what would be the criterion to judge if the person has produced a surah equivalent to a surah in Quran. Many have tried and shared the surah with layman Muslims, but the Muslims were unable to distinguish if the surah was actually from Quran or a fake one.

Thank you for your response. I looked at all responses and I have seen Ghamidi Sahib’s response too, but none of those responses carry weight from the perspective of the opposing side. Their objection is that once they met the challenge, we are changing the goal post. There is no where in Quran it says that, it is scientific, litterary or any specific kind of challenge. Most of the responses seems to change the goal post.

It is not a response to their criticism or to their so called ‘challenge fulfilled’. We are trying to tell them that their understanding of the challenge is wrong. We are not discussing the product of their response, we are telling them that the premise on which that product is built has been fallacious. Just because they think they’ve achieved the challenge, this doesn’t mean that they have actually achieved it. We are simply pointing out their mistake that logically, this challenge could never mean how they’ve understood it. Copying the writing style of Shakespeare cannot make one Shakespeare. It is called a simple copy, not a parallel and independent philosophical-cum-literary masterpiece.
