Surah Baqrah ayah 106 says Whatever a Verse (revelation) do We abrogate or cause to be forgotten, We bring a better one or similar to it. Know you not that Allah is able to do all things?
Yes some of ayhas were abrogated. A scholar may give a detailed answer.
In Shahih muslim there is mention of Ayat e rajam which was abrogated later from tilawat. (Muslim Book 17, Number 419)
I am not sure about the context of this hadith but Ghamdi sb has criticized this narration. -

Did I conclude right that there were some ayahs which were revealed but later were removed from Quran and cannot impose the laws any more?-
All such Abrogations are present inside the Quran and there are total of four such places.
