The actual reason for iddat is to ensure the presence or absence of a child inside woman’s womb. If this primary objective can be met without any fear of societal ill that may befall a woman due to some ‘tohmat’ (zina allegation) which may bring the lineage of a child into question, then there is no prohibition for a woman to go outside the house for some genuine reason. As long as a woman is sure that she is in a safe environment, she can go out with ease.
