It’s clear from the Quran verse 3:55 too that Jesus AS’s death wasn’t sudden – God had already told him about it in advance.

In this video, he argues that Jesus prophecied himself being killed not a natural death.

So: I came across this video of a Christian theologian in which he tries to disprove the Quran’s saying about Jesus’s raising to heaven and to prove his crucifixion by his statement in gospels.

He argues that Jesus has foretold several times to his disciples in the gospels that “he’ll be crucified by the people and then he’ll return after 3 days.”

My question is that if Jesus had prophecied his cruxifiction and that also several times in the gospels, how are we to support the Quran’s claim that he wasn’t crucified.

You can watch the video for the citations from the gospels.

What we have to understand is that these are not the word of God, but narrations that have become a part of the Bible. Even those are not in their original language.

Our source book is the Quran and we must understand the Bible in the light of the Quran. It’s quite possible that Jesus AS prophesied his death. We know from the Quran verse 3:55 that he was informed about it in advance. His prophecies about death could have been narrated or translated as crucifixion. Narrations are not transmitted in literal words of Jesus, and it’s really easy for any preconceived notions of the narrators to seep in.
