    Many people say that biting nails results in shortening of one’s lifespan. I don’t believe in superstitions but this one I’ve heard a lot. Is there some truth in it ?

      Because these sort of things are often presented as religious commands. I’m well educated to know these are mere superstitions but I have seen a lot of people who believe this superstition especially in Pakistan where education is not very common.

      Just like a lot of people in Pakistan believe that masturbation has negative health effects and it is haram to do masturbation and those who do it their hands will become impregnated.

      Sometimes it becomes difficult to counter these kind of things in our society where people believe in superstitions more than facts so I just wanted to know how to tackle these kind of issues.

    Nail biting can reduce life span, because it spreads germs and increases the risk of infections. However, this has nothing to do with religion. Please see:
