Walaikum Salam.
We can help them in numerous ways. For example, donating to reliable foundations working in these regions for healthcare, education, etc. We could speak for their rights in a peaceful and democratic manner, urge our elected representatives and the government to devise some policies and raise these issues in the UN and international platform. Finally, we should pray to Allah to ease their pains.
