Zakat On Sahib-e Nisab Savings Collected From Zakaat Money
(Asking on the behalf of some one)

A family was collecting Zakat in Pakistan from donors in USA. After a few years the head of the family who is responsible for collecting money says that he has collected enough money in savings that the saved amount from this Zakat money make him fall in the category of Sahib e Nisab. He will not collect any more money from Zakat donations but the question he is asking ”SHOULD HE PAY ZAKAT ON THIS SAVINGS FROM ZAKAT DONATIONS. Jazak Allah -

I’m assuming that he was collecting money as a charity to spend on others. If that’s the case then he doesn’t owe any zakat on the collected money. Nisab is for personal savings / assets only. If he was collecting the money for himself and his family and now has savings beyond nisab then yes he will have to pay zakat on his savings and he’s not eligible for zakat anymore.
