    https://www.islamawakened.com/quran/53/17/ .

I wanted some clarification on this ayah is it that:

    زاغ

    1. They eyesight did not swerve (look at something else).

    2. The eyesight did not falter

    3. Or that in the presence of such glory it did not look down and not observe our of humility?

    And

    طغى

    A. It did not falter as in go blind or see an illusion (if this is right then it cannot be 2 above) This would probably align with 1 above

    B. It did not look directly at the glory of the signs as to be disrespectful. (Like staring at a king would be disrespectful, but to completely look down in humility would not be possible given human curiosity)- this would align with 3 above

    ——————

His sight did not falter nor lost its poise.- Ghamidi al-Bayan.

The reason I don’t understand Ghamidi sahab’s translation is that it just says the same thing. Not faltering and not losing poise is the same thing.

    This is the footnote:

In spite of the great extent of divine disclosures the sight of the Prophet (sws) was neither dazed nor crossed the limits; in fact, he saw them with full concentration, attention and assurance.

What does crossing the limits mean here?

That there was no excitement or fear which could have overpowered him during such a spectacular display and his gaze might have strayed , he kept watching with calmly and full concentration.

So what is the exact meaning of the two words if you don’t mind?
