    Ta Ha – 20:130

    161. Ie., at the times of fajr and ‘asr.

    162. The prayers of ‘isha’ and tahajjud are offered at night. This is a reference to them. The repetition of the verb in the verse is meant for emphasis.

    163. These can only be three: the margins of morning, midday and the the evening. The prayers of Zuhr, maghrib and ‘isha’ are offered at these margins of the day. This directive of the prayer has been given as a measure to acquire patience because a person can only have this trait with God’s help and the sole way to receive His help is the prayer. Imam Amin Ahsan Islahi writes:

    .

    Al-Bayan

What are the margins of the day? It seems Ghamidi sahab wrote morning midday and evening (sunset) but then said zuhr maghrib and isha which are not respective to the aforementioned times.

It seems the margins would be Sunrise midday and sunset. But the sunrise prayer has already been mentioned so why would it be mentioned again?

Ghamidi Sahib wirtes while explaing Atraaf al-Nahaar:

Margins of the day seems to be sunrise midday and sunset not evening. That’s what makes sense. Unless it’s a specific term
