If religion was based on reason, we’d wipe the lower part of the sock.

This is not a Hadith, it is a saying associated with Hazrat Ali (rta) and has been discussed at length by Mr. Hasan Ilyas in conversing Islam with Hamza Ali Abbasi in episode 9 of Season 2.
