Is Missing Salah Intentionally Kufr?

Moderator March 23, 2021 at 8:56 amKufr has to do with knowingly denying the truth. Intentionally missing salat itself is a sin and not kufr, however, if the reason behind doing so is to rebel against God then of course it’s kufr.
Please watch the following to understand kufr:

I mean there are many people who miss salah because of lazieness , or because they are unaccustomed to prayers, or because they do not even understand the real meaning of azan as it’s in arabic , or because they haven’t got the right approach by anyone for praying salah, or because they are preoccupied with worldy affairs etc etc, but they are trying somehow and in intention to establish prayers with time by gaining knowledge about Islam , knowing the verses, knowing the real purpose of Islam or simply just by connecting with god over time..
We can’t call this attitude “kufr” .
Society, how a person is approached at home, how a person approach religion(some people prefer to act after knowing that exact thing in detail which he/she is going to follow), busy life resulting in not being able to know about religion and etc..
The term “KUFR” applies only when a person deliberately denies the truth and decides that he will never pray, inshort to rebel against god. However, we can only point out the attitude of “Kufr” because we do not have the right to call anyone a Kafir.
So Is my understanding correct?

Member July 13, 2022 at 6:42 amSir I have a confusion..in the discussion you shared, Ghamidi sahab was saying that one who misses salah is doing istikbar , so isn’t istikbar and kufr the same thing?.

Moderator July 17, 2022 at 3:51 pmYes they are the same wth respect to the ultimate result, but this statement of Ghamidi Sahab is with reference to the one skipping Salah as a conscious decision.

Member July 20, 2022 at 5:57 amSo this attitude is same as committing kufr?.
Also, this do not apply to those muslims who skip salah but not with such intentions?.

Moderator July 20, 2022 at 12:13 pm– Yes, it is the same attitude.
– We have no criteria to judge people’s intentions but theoretically this statement is correct.

Bdw Obviously we have no criteria but still a general idea can be made about them by looking at their actions or behaviour . Like Someone who is trying to pray salah , or someone who fears Allah and stays away from sin. We can atleast tell them to keep trying… you are on the right road.
