Burning Bush Or Tree?
Al-Qasas – 28:30

فَلَمَّآ أَتَىٰهَا نُودِىَ مِن شَٰطِئِ ٱلۡوَادِ ٱلۡأَيۡمَنِ فِى ٱلۡبُقۡعَةِ ٱلۡمُبَٰرَكَةِ مِنَ ٱلشَّجَرَةِ أَن يَٰمُوسَىٰٓ إِنِّىٓ أَنَا ٱللَّهُ رَبُّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
I have heard from Jewish sources that there was a burning bush not a tree. Is this a contradiction between the two sources?

The Hebrew word is הסנה which means the bush

Well it says شجر can mean bush. Does شجرة make a difference?

According to lanes lexicon دق الشجر is used to refer to bush or shrub.

That could a bush like tree.

But why is such an ambiguous word used? Something like كمن or دفع could be used. Doesn’t this mean that we have to rely on the Torah for some meanings of the Quran? Then how is the Quran the muhaymin?

Well the word is شجرة still

If they contradict Quran will prevail. Torah is translation but Quran is the word of God preserved
