Jews as well as other clans were bound by Meesaq-e-Madina (the treaty of Madina) to collectively defend Madina from any external threat.

Why the meesaq was done with jews becoz in the presence of rasool mohammad (SAW) …they should believe in him or they should expel from the land

Expulsion of People of the Book was according to God’s law whereby once the dominance of addressees of a Prophet is established in a land, followers of other beliefs are no longer allowed to live in that land. However, this is done after all phases of the law of Itmam-e-Hujjah are complete.
