Does “holding someone, who is not a prophet, above in ranks than prophets” count as the denial of Islamic belief system? What are the orders in this regard?

Please clarify your question. Who would you rather hold above Prophet Muhammad SAW in ranks when he is the entire source of religion for us? If you do want to hold someone else higher, then what’s the point in finding out the permissibility of such a deed in the religion that was preached by Prophet Muhammad SAW.

Alright. Let me ask it more clearly. Some sects in Islam hold Prophet (SAW) on the highest ranks after Allah. Then there is Ali (RA) and then there are rest of the prophets. In doing so, they are not denying the belief in prophets. Now I ask, is above ranking inherently the denial of Islamic belief system? What are the orders in this regard?
