Many regimes have tried to fight the ideology of religion by suppressing it. Eg France, Turkey, Egypt etc. According to Ghamidi sb these are unnatural process which will be succeful in short tem. But it cannot deviate people from religion in long term. You may find comments in following video From 30:38 to 44:42 helpful.
