They do finish their prayer with salam. Yes it is obligatory to finish prayer.

منہ پھیر کر دونوں طرف سلام پھیرنا.. غامدی صاحب ایک ویڈیو میں کہ رہے تھے کہ منہ پھیرنا بھی لازمی اعمال میں سے ہے… اہل تشیع کئ منہ. نہیں پھیرتے

You are correct.
In Shiites hadith tradition, Facing sides is not an obligatory act. They say asalamalikum ….. then they say takbir 3 times.
In general, there is no difference in obligatory acts of prayers.

While comparing different sect, we need to see how they interpret things. The common factor is they also interpret things according to Quran o Sunnah + Hadith.
