  • Delaying Fajr Due To Sleep

Posted by Zuhair on May 15, 2021 at 12:28 pm

I know in when situations prayers can be delayed but my question is somehow different. Usually during exams I study all night and sleep for some hours in between so I don’t feel lazy the next day. For example if I’m sleeping for just 5-6 hrs I might not want to wake up for Fajr because then it becomes really difficult to sleep again and it disturbs the time table. So during exams or in such situations when you think sleeping is important so if we intentionally delay Fajr till the time we completely wake up so is it ok?

As a principle, when you’re sleeping (due to any reason), then prayer becomes due as soon as you wake up.

If someone intention is to delay fajr & pray when fajr time is finished then it is a sin. If someone is sleeping but he has intention that he will pray fajr on time but cannt wake up then when he wake up he should offer fajr then , but he cannot make this habit . JazkALLAH

You can offer prayer after waking up. However, offering fajar at its time is more recommended because it is witness bey angels. See verse17:78.
