Prayers (Duas) shouldn’t be seen from the perspective of resolution of our problems solely or solely for the sake of acceptance, instead they should be seen from the perspective of rationale as to why we are doing them. They are an expression of association of a Muslim with the Almighty and of our belief that beyond the realm of ’cause and effect’, everything happens with ALLAH’s Izn. Whatever one’s troubles are, one should ask and pray to Allah with sincerity and utmost humbleness after putting in all the effort. The best way to do it would be through Salah.
