As a principle, the relaxation in case of ibadah is based on principle of usar (‘ghair mamoli mushaqqat‘) and for other prohibitions (‘mohramat‘), the relaxation is based on ‘iztiraar‘ (becoming impossible to do or when it becomes a matter of life and death).
