Jinns Working For Prophet Sulaiman
It has been stated in the Quran in 34:14:
“So, when We decided (that) death (should come) upon him, nothing gave them any indication of his death, except a creature of the earth that had eaten up his sceptre. So, when he fell down, the Jinns came to know that if they had the knowledge of the Unseen, they would not have stayed (so long) in the humiliating punishment.”
Why is the labour of these Jinns referred to as a humiliating punishment? It has been stated in Tadabbur e Quran that this ayat suggests that Prophet Sulaiman only employed ‘Shareer’ (evil) Jinns in his service but it is not clear to me from the ayat (perhaps I am missing some context).
