It is a common practice for people to think that the way a person died is somehow related to his sins or good deeds. E.g. If someone has paiful death, people think that it is due to their sins. In the same case if weather is good in someone’s funeral, it is considered that God like this person. What is islam’s take on this?

There is no basis for it.

Such things are matters of opinion, but they have no religious basis. For example, it is commonly believed that when a person dies in Ramadan that his sins are forgiven. However, many criminals such as murderers and rapists die in Ramadan too.
