I understand “Tests And Trials (Ibtila)” for adults as the “Dealings And Practices Of God (Khuda Ki Sunan)”. But I struggle to understand how this applies to suffering of young children (e.g. young cancer patients)?

Tests and Trials Scheme would not have been possible if there has been an element of predictability somehere along the line. Just the way, the time of death has been kept unknown, similarly, the implications resulting as a result of tests and trials happen regardless of age, gender, culture, race or any other factor for that matter. Had there been any element of predictability, the whole veil of scheme would’ve been ruptured and the scheme would’ve been ineffective right from the start. But if you look into the whole scheme on a wider canvas, after incorporating both this and the world hereafter, then the suffering of this world, despite extreme hardships, becomes bearable.
