    Peace!

If there were other gods beside Allah, won’t they have had perfect wisdom like Allah and perfect knowledge? Why would there have been chaos? Perfect beings would have just agreed with one another and there would have been no chaos.

No there would’ve been chaos. Consider the 2 scenarios

    1. Look at the stories from sacred text about gods in hinduism and Greece. All the gods originated from 1 and they had different powers and responsibilities. Invariably there were clash of powers and hence chaos. You can say that all gods were given human like attributes that’s why they fought. If they were perfect then they wouldn’t !!

    2. Imagine a god with absolute mercy and another god with absolute justice. Then think how will they judge if a thief is brought in court?

Just by thinking idea of perfect/absolute justice abs mercy, you’ll realize that God can not be more than 1.

Brother Ashal, we think similar. It is not a very convincing argument to prove one god by saying that if there were multiple gods, there would have been Chaos in the universe. Gods are not supposed to have the same characteristics as humans.

BUT when we state that there are multiple gods, we are already associating human characteristics to god. Multiple gods means, there is another higher creator of those multiple gods. To be a god he has to be unique and uncreated and the creator of everything.

Here is a list of all arguments I remember that are given to prove oneness of god. I find the later points in this list more convincing.

    1. Our nature tells us that there is only one god

    2. If there were multiple gods they would have conflict between them

    3. Harmony in the universe proves there is one god

    4. No other god has claimed to be a god. Or at leat there is no other authentic book claiming this.

    5. Allah didn’t tell us that he has taken partners

    6. If there were multiple gods then there must be another creator of those gods as the ultimate god has to be uncreated as that is the definition of real god.

The only convincing argument is that if Quran, multiple Gods means chaos.,because God is perfect and 2 perfect beings can not agree onto something that’ll require perfection in different aspects at the same time. Perfect harmony and true justice can only happen if there’s only 1 Godwith all the perfect/absolute attributes.

Other arguments r quite weak I think

Nature doesn’t tell us there’s 1 God. Look at the multiple gods in every prehistoric society. Mountains of data from archeological findings to suggest multiple gods were imagined and worshiped. Not a single society had worshiped 1 god without partners so clearly nature is not monotheistic

How does universal harmony explains 1 God? Multiple humans have invented cars, rockets, space stations. All worked in perfect harmony! So multiple creators can create a harmonious being. And how do we know universe is harmonious anyway? What about hurricanes, tsunamis, landslides, wild fires etc ??

There r sacred texts where God has spoken, Vedas r an excellent example. Upanishads, Puranas all speak about God and other gods

Yes, 1 God is from no one but either he creates other gods or part of Him transforms into another god and so on
