This is absolutely baseless. Hazrat Muwayiah was an epitome of Hilm, tolerance and forbearance. People used to take advantage of his tolerant behaviour, but he never lost his composure. He is known for his tolerance. There are so many incidents in history to confirm the said. He suggested his son’s successorship, never imposed, and people willingly accepted him. That was tribal society, no tribe could take any humiliation. He had deep relations with other tribes, especially with Banu Hashim, the second mighty tribe, if he were a tyrant, Banu Hashim would have rebelled against him, but none went against him, except for Husain and Abdullah bin Zubair, and no because of any tyranny, but they had their own motives. They did it after Muawiah.
