    Asalamoalaikum,

My question is whether foods that are known to be haram to consume, such as pig, dead meat, etc., are allowed to be use in the manufacturing of non-food items? For example, clothing, creams, shampoos, etc. I’m reading on some sources that these items in themselves are impure, so they cannot be used for the manufacturing of non-food items either.

    JazakAllah

The prohibition lies in only eating the flesh/meat of pig and that of murdar animal. Their remains can be used for any purpose other than dietary.

Brother Haseeb. In my understanding those who expand on the scope of a specifically stated prohibition in Quran commit the sin of adding to the religion and that seems to be strictly prohibited in Islam.
