Permissibility Of Cannabis
Can I please get a final verdict on whether smoking cannabis is haram, halal or makrook? I don’t see how it falls under the category of intoxicants like alcohol. Isn’t it more like smoking cigarettes? Ghamidi sab says that smoking is haram as it could harm other individuals. If smoking cigarettes or cannabis is done in a small amount and it doesn’t harm other or ourselves, is it allowed?

I don’t recall Ghamidi sahab ever categorizing cigarette smoking as haram.
As a principle, anything which renders your mind ineffective and makes you lose sense of reality is haram on the same principle as alcohol is haram. If cannabis has the same effect then it can be categorized as haram.
